The founder of our funeral home, J. Miles Hiers, began his career in Ocala at McIver-MacKay Funeral Home. Miles married his high school sweetheart, Rosa Eva Floyd and they had a son, John Hiers.
Because Mr. Hiers’ sympathy and compassion were a comfort to families who trusted him with their funeral arrangements, he retained ownership of the funeral home in 1936, and his son, John, eventually joined in the family business. Dennis Baxley began working with the Hiers Family in 1970 and his son Justin is now President of the Company.
