    Dennis has truly lived a life committed to service. With a career in the Funeral Profession spanning over 30 years, he has also served as Mayor-Commissioner for the City of Belleview, FL, former member of the Florida State Board of Funeral Directors and Embalmers, former Speaker Pro Tem of the Florida House, former Executive Director of Florida's Christian Coalition and is currently serving as State Representative for the Florida House, representing District 24.     Beverly Brown, Community Care & Life Steps Director

    Author and Speaker Beverly Brown has been a member of the Hiers-Baxley team since 2006. Her life experiences help her to reach out to the bereaved in a way that is unique. That is because Beverly has experienced loss first-hand through the passing of her parents and her only child. A graduate of the Foresight Companies Aftercare School, Beverly is the program developer and coordinator for “Life Steps.” The Life Steps Grief Support Program provides the surviving spouse, companion, sibling or the child of someone who has passed on, expert advice on topics such as physical and emotional wellness, home security, travel planning, finance and even "cooking for one."
    Additionally, Beverly’s role as Community Care Director includes organizing community events throughout the year to honor and remember, fundraisers for local charities, community groups that link people with like-loss and a “walking club” that meets on a weekly basis. Beverly also coordinates the Hiers-Baxley company-wide volunteer campaign. Away from the office, Beverly enjoys time with friends and family. She teaches a children’s Sunday School class at Memorial Baptist Church in Ocala. Beverly’s greatest passion is reaching out to comfort others through her own testimony, which is published in the book, God Speaks...a true story. "God Speaks" is a powerfully inspiring true story about her daughter’s very unique encounter with God before passing away from this life.     Andrew Clark
    Andrew Clark, Director of Operations - Licensed Funeral Director

    Andrew D. Clark is the Director of Operations for Hiers-Baxley Funeral Services and Highland Memorial Park. Born in Gainesville, FL, Andrew spent his early years in Chiefland prior to his family's move to Ocala. A member of the Hiers-Baxley team since 2004, Andrew earned his Funeral Service education at St. Petersburg College.

    On November 21, 2011, Governor. Rick Scott announced the appointment of Andrew to the Board of Funeral, Cemetery and Consumer Services. He succeeds Tracy L. Huggins and is appointed for a term beginning Dec. 2 and ending Sept. 30, 2015.

    In his spare time, Andrew keeps busy at home and in the community - spending time with his wife, Ashley, and their son, who is the delight of their lives.     2011 marked 20 years of funeral service for Daren. He graduated from Kansas City Kansas Community College with a AAS Degree in Mortuary Science. A native of Kansas, Daren moved to Ocala to be closer to his parents and sister, who moved to the area several years earlier. Daren has experience in all phases of funeral service including pre-planning and cemetery knowledge. As with many Funeral Directors, Daren is proud of his vocation...the opportunity to assist families when help is needed most. Daren is a true believer in the values of working at a family-owned funeral establishment. A first generation Funeral Director, he has worked at funeral home-cemetery combination locations, been a Crematory Operator, started and managed a funeral home from inception to reality, gained a license to sell pre-need insurance, and worked at one of the largest family-owned funeral home establishments in the United States.     Ron is a native Floridian who was born in Miami, Florida. The family homestead is located in Punta Gorda.

    Since 1980, John has been in funeral and cemetery service, as well as advance planning. He began his career as a 15 year old digging graves with a pick and a shovel.
    John's educational background includes - Pacific Lutheran University, Seattle Pacific University, Associate in Arts Degree in Mortuary Science at Mount Hood Community College, Certified by The International Conference of Funeral Service Examining Boards, and he is currently furthering his university education at Liberty University - double major for Bachelor of Science in Business Marketing, and Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice.
    When asked his personal sentiments regarding funeral service, John states - "We have a unique ability to reach people at their most tragic times in their lives, in addition to helping them in advance of a death. I have experienced the death of my grandparents, suicide of my mother and step father, as well as the death of my brother, and girlfriend. Through all these, I would never have progressed through these heartbreaking events, had I not been a firm believer in my christian faith."

    A graduate of the New England Institute of Applied Arts & Sciences in Boston, William has been a Funeral Director for 32 years. It was July of 1990 when he decided to make the sunshine state his new home. When asked his personal sentiments regarding funeral service, William's response was this - "I see my position as more of a ministry than a profession." On a personal note, in April 2009 when his dearest friend needed a full-time caregiver, William temporarily retired to take care of him.     Timothy Maloney, Associate

    Born in Chicago, Illinois, Tim graduated from York High School and then in 1973 joined the Marine Corps. He served on Embassy duty in 1976. His special missions included Dacca Bangladesh, Caracas Venezuela and Paris France. His military tour concluded in 1979. Beginning in 1980, Tim began a career in the transportation industry that lasted more than 27 years. He moved to Belleview, Florida in 1998. He and wife, Trish, are members of Grace Baptist Church in Belleview. In 2008, Tim began his career with Team Hiers-Baxley.     Jack and his wife, Carol, have been married for 38 years and have two adult sons, Bill and Clark. A native of Marion County, Jack was born and raised in Dunnellon, FL.     A journalist for more than eleven years, high school teacher for three, Eric has been serving families through funeral service for five years now.     Eddie Weems has lived in Bronson, FL all his life. He is a 2005 graduate of Bronson High School and is currently attending the College of Central FL and St Petersburg College for Mortuary Science with the goal of becoming a licensed Funeral Director. Eddie enjoys fishing, collecting antique desk fans, working in his yard and....making people laugh! Eddie and his newlywed wife, Shanell plan to raise their family in Bronson and in the process continue to "give back" to their community. Eddie states, "I personally believe that my role at Hiers-Baxley Funeral Services was a calling from God. I am blessed to have what it takes to be a comfort to families during their time of need. I am thankful to have an opportunity to give back to the community that has done so much for me.
